- Entrant Eligibility: The Mallorqueta Short Story Contest (the “Contest”) is open to writers worldwide who are at least 18 years of age on the date of entry. Individuals directly involved with Gelbes Elend Press, including employees, contractors, and their immediate family members or those living in the same household, are not eligible to participate.
- Contest Sponsor: The Contest is hosted by Mallorqueta, a publication under the banner of Gelbes Elend Press (“Sponsor”).
- Rules Agreement: By entering the Contest, participants agree to respect these Official Rules and accept the decisions of the Sponsor, which are irrevocable and binding.
- Contest Period: The Contest begins on 1st July 2023 and ends on 1st October 2023 (the “Contest Period”). All submissions must be received within this period to be eligible.
- Winner Selection: One (1) winner will be selected from the eligible entries received during the Contest Period. The selection process will conclude on 1st December 2023. The likelihood of winning depends on the quantity of eligible entries received.
- Winner Notification: The winner will be notified via email within three (3) business days following the selection. The winner has seventy-two (72) hours to accept the prize. Failure to respond within this time frame or non-compliance with these Official Rules may result in disqualification, and an alternate winner may be selected.
- Prize: The winner will have their story published in the first issue of Mallorqueta magazine and will receive a cash reward of EUR€300. The prize is non-transferable.
- Rights Granted by Entrants: By participating in the Contest, entrants grant the Sponsor and its affiliates the right to use, reproduce, and display their submission and any content associated with their participation in the Contest for promotional purposes.
- General Conditions: The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest in the event of any fraud or technical failures. The Sponsor is not responsible for any technical problems, malfunctions, or other issues that may occur during the Contest.
- Release and Limitations of Liability: By entering the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, liabilities, or damages arising out of their participation in the Contest.
- Disputes: The Contest is governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Wyoming or the US Federal Court, where applicable.
- Privacy: Any personal information collected during the Contest will be used in accordance with the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, which can be found on the Mallorqueta website (http://mallorqueta.com). By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to the collection and use of their personal information for the purposes of administering the Contest and any other purposes outlined in the Privacy Policy.

- Amendments: The Sponsor reserves the right to alter these Official Rules at any time without prior notice, subject to applicable laws and regulations. Any modifications to the Official Rules will be announced on the Mallorqueta website and social media channels.
