Originally a 17th century farmhouse, it evolved through generations, adapting and growing to fit the needs of the times and its owners. Years ago, the current owner spent his formative years in the property (his childhood home at the time) with his family. After many years, he renovated the place, keeping the integrity of the property; preserving its old luxurious textures, materials, and tones, while elevating its elements to create an air of warmth and sophistication.
Beautifully preserved wood is used all throughout, and is incorporated into almost every space. The wood intertwines perfectly with the stone body of the house, and splashes of color and pattern are strategically placed to bring depth. This beautiful property is rented whole, perfect for families or groups of friends. Strolling through its quarters doesn’t feel like you are staying at a hotel, but rather like you are being welcomed home into old elegance.

As someone who has spent the last few years building my connection with the world around me and exploring the tie between inner spirituality and the outer world, I’ve come to truly appreciate spaces that I feel share that same ideology of commitment to open and free exploration of one’s spirit. It is truly special when one encounters a space that was created for people to feel inspired and encouraged to reflect on their place in the natural world around them, and ground themselves back into their roots, and into mother nature. And that is precisely the philosophy behind Es Racó d’Artà. It is more than a retreat; it is a place where you are encouraged to go on a soul journey, where you are given the right tools to guide you.
It is immediately very apparent the love, care, and dedication that has been put into every part of this place. It is owned by two friends, Antoni Esteva and Jaume Danus, who personally carried out its execution; Antoni is the architect who designed it, and Jaume is a builder who did the construction.
All of the elements of the finca are of course ecological and based on complete self sustainability. Its cool earthy tones and natural textures provide a calming effect that can be felt throughout the property. Es Racó d’Artà is somewhere that you go for an immersive experience, one which I believe to be the most unique on this island.
